Friday roundup and podcast links

Links to episode 2 of the podcast and some resources going forward.

Episode 2 of the podcast is now up! You can watch “America Goes Rogue—And How We Get Back” on YouTube or listen to it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and anywhere else you get your podcasts.

Today’s Friday post will include the resources and links can expect to see at the end of each week from here on out. (And a reminder: the Tuesday posts will be the big political and historical essay for each week—which is the focus on the podcast, too—while the Thursday post will sometimes be historical, might related to the Arctic, or could be an essay about my childhood in West Virginia.)

Here are just a few of the people mentioned in the essays and on the podcast so far. First and foremost is Jason Sattler, aka LOLGOP, who makes all the bells and whistles and produces the podcast. Also worth a follow are Olúfẹ́mi O. Táíwò, Mark Fallon, Mariame Kaba, Adam Serwer, and Dave Levitan. This essay over at Convergence from Daniel Hunter is also worth a read.

If you haven’t joined Bluesky yet, I encourage you to. It’s great to see everything that the people you follow post in the order they post it, and to be able to link to articles and know that the people who follow you will see what you’re trying to share.

At the end of November, the Thursday and Friday posts will start going behind a paywall. I’ll keep the Monday posts on politics and history free for everyone, because I think a lot of people need this information right now.

If you like what you read here but are not yet a subscriber, I encourage you to subscribe!

If you’re a subscriber but not a paid one, I encourage you to upgrade and become one. You’ll get access to everything going forward, and you’ll also be helping others who might not be able to afford a subscription to see the material on politics and history here at Degenerate Art and also on the podcast—which we launched to try to reach those who may not be big readers but are trying to stay informed on other media.

Thanks for your time and attention! Oh, and Friday posts will get more interesting as we go forward. Stay tuned.
